We've been in business for decades, and we've seen them come and go. How have we been able sustain over the years? Are we perfect?

No, we aren't perfect. We never claimed to be. But, we are the best. We work with our customers to  give them the results WE ourselves would want. Never mind the awards, the customer recommendations, etc... When you come in to our shop, you'll know that we care. Keeping an establishment like ours thriving over many years doesn't happen by accident. It happens because we are always learning, giving you, our customers the best possible service we are capable of. We are always upfront with you when it comes to difficult garments, and we consult you when it comes to creative solutions to your challenging alterations.

Spring Flowers... Love is in the air!

We wonder... will the weather make up its mind?

One day its warm, the next its back to being very very cold. Well, not that cold.

The new wardrobe is being brought out - ones with shorter sleeves, and shorter pant legs.

Just so you know we are being bombarded by customers dropping off all their winter clothes so they can be cleaned the right way and stored for the summer. Don't worry, we are making time for you and your clothes. We are standing by and are looking forward to seeing you in the weeks to come.

Ok, back to business...

If you have any sweaters, etc that had certain items spilled on them, bring them in. Be sure to tell us what exactly the stain is so that we can have the best plan of attack when cleaning.

"What? You mean you don't just throw them in the washing machines and let them sit?"

Um. NO. We don't. Every garment deserves their individual attention. Every piece of clothing is made of different material, and every stain could be acidic or not. Detergents, or other methods to remove stubborn stains without ruining clothes is a science and an art form.

Thurs Dec 25:   Closed all day
Fri Dec 26:   Open at 7am till 4pm
Wed Dec 31:   Open 7am till 4pm
Thurs Jan 1:      Closed all day
Fri Jan 2:      Open 7am till 4 pm
Sat Jan 3:      Open all day 7 - 6
Sun: Closed all day (as usual)

After all the holiday madness we will resume regular business hours: M-F 7-7, Sat 7-6, Sun closed.

Yes, We Are On Yelp! (Yes, we know what that means!)

It was only a matter of time before the internet took over the world. Technology is changing... every day! It changes the way we talk to each other, and it certainly changed the way the world does business.



To be honest, we WERE uncomfortable with the changes.
We are very busy, day in and day out restoring your clothes. We hardly had time to learn computers and the internet. It was overwhelming. I'm sure some of you reading this know what I mean.

Websites, www, viruses, memory, internet, modem, Yelp, Google, Yahoo....

"What do all these mean?" I would ask myself.


There was no hiding from it. The future is here, and today, it seems like Suzy and I are almost "Internet Pros!" We are watching fun Youtube videos (mainly on alien abductions, my favorite! :)), Korean dramas, and solving problems by "Googling." 

When someone mentioned that they came to our cleaners by their Google search or Yelp review- we know exactly what they are talking about! What a change from just a few years ago, when we would be scratching our heads, puzzled.

Now we are actively logging in, blogging, and making a presence for Highland Square Cleaners on the world wide web. Hey, if other cleaners that can't deliver the caliber of service that we can are on the web, then we have a responsibility to let people know who we are, and what we can do. We owe it to our "Googlers" to let them know we are here for them, for all their dry cleaning and tailoring needs.

I'm proud that I can email, use laptop computers, save, copy, paste, and visit websites. I'm quite impressive with technology! Its amazing what you can do when you practice. If I can do it, anyone can.

So yes, we are on Yelp, and spreading our wings wider... you'll find us all over the internet soon enough!  Thanks for reading! See you soon.
